The Country & Bluegrass Genre.

Karen was immortalised in concrete in Tamworth¹s ¼Country Music Hands of Fame¹ at the Hands of Fame
Bluegrass, Country & Folk singer/songwriter Karen Lynne, was recently announced as one of the 2008 inductees to the Country Music ¼Hands Of Fame¹ at the annual Roll of Renown Concert held in the Tamworth Town Hall during the recent Tamworth Country Music Festival. Being such an Inductee is one of the greatest honours for an Australian performer in tame Cornerstone in Hands of Fame Park (at the corner of Brisbane Street and Kable Avenue), Tamworth, on Australia Day 2008 along with five (5) other inductees Mick Antonio, Kevin Knapp, Jim Muir and Wally Sparrow, (Warren H Williams was also inducted but was unable to be there as he had a performance committment in Queensland on Australia Day). The Country Music ¼Hands of Fame¹ are co-ordinated for the City of Tamworth by the Australian Country Music Foundation.

Blue Mountains based Karen Lynne has taken great strides in her career as a singer, songwriter and musician since starting out more than 20 years ago. She has had considerable success with all 6 of her recordings and has collected many accolades and Awards along the way including a number of Golden Guitar Awards finalist placings and last year¹s Frank Ifield ¼International Spur Award¹.

Probably Country Music¹s quietest achiever, she demonstrates not only great talent but remarkable perseverance and the staying power necessary to achieve longevity in an industry so fickle. With six (6) great albums, twelve major Award wins, nearly forty major Finalist Nominations, three international tours, over ten Australian Country Music Radio Chart hits and a number of overseas chart hits, and now a place in Country Music Capital¹s Historic ¼Hands of Fame¹ Park, she continues to demonstrate a dedication not often recognised in her field.

Blue Mountains based musician Martin Louis has for the third time, taken out Winning honours in the Banjo section of the Australian National Bluegrass Championships, held in Tamworth during the Annual Country Music festival. The Australian National Bluegrass Championships were held at West Diggers Auditorium in front of a large Bluegrass loving audience who enjoyed the heats and finals of each of the four sections, those being Flatpick Guitar, Bluegrass Banjo, Bluegrass Fiddle and Bluegrass Mandolin. A ¼Horizon Award¹ for the most promising talent of the day was awarded also. All Contestants are required to play two bluegrass tunes in the heat, and a further two if selected as a finalist.
