The Song
"Just Someone I Used To Know" was recorded by Floreena Forbes this year, 2014 in memory of her husband Wal Forbes who passed away in 1984.
Floreena & Wal Forbes formed their band "Floreena Forbes & The Tumbleweed in 1977. In this video, I have included Floreena's stepson Wayne Forbes whose life was lost  in a motorbike accident along with his 7 year old son. Wayne was their drummer in the earlier years.

COUNTRY MUSIC ARTISTS BIO'S

Graham Rodger

KandL

With four albums of original music to date, they are accomplished and imaginative songwriters in many styles of music.  Their albums are listed on this site, and some sound clips are added here for you to listen to.

They are an ideal choice for weddings, birthdays, corporate functions, rock n' roll parties and just about anything you can think of.  In addition to this, their passion for the elderly has seen them carve out a niche performing several times each month at the many local aged care facilities and retirement villages.

Because music, performing and spreading their own enthusiasm and happiness is what motivated them more than anything else, the cost of hiring them for your function is not exorbitant in comparison with many artists.

Yet another string to KandL's bow is the ability to teach what they have learned themselves.  Lessons are available for guitar, music theory, song writing and other skills.  They can also write and record songs for those special occasions that need something brand new.

A little word about our name..... it's pronounced "Candle", just like the ones on a birthday cake, and it's an abbreviation of "Keith and Lee".  Neat, huh?  We have heard all sorts of pronunciations over the last few years, so there's a nice clear explanation.  We also throw out a little hint with our candle logo on our business cards and other places.

Have you heard or met KandL somewhere recently?  We'd love to hear what you think!  Leave your review below....
KandL is Keith and Lee White, a Bendigo, Victoria-based duo who perform at functions of every imaginable kind and record albums of both covers and original music.  They have a wealth of experience in music performance covering five decades, including everything from nursery rhymes to hard rock!  Lee's background in musical theatre provides an element of comedy and drama to their performances, while Keith's experience with bands of all kinds over many years allows them to take on any project or song and do it well.  This experience includes a grounding in ballroom dance music in the very early days, followed by many years of pop/rock cover bands from the early 60s to 1980.  During this time, he shared the stage with many of New Zealand's top performers, and even backed the great John Farnham when he toured New Zealand - he was still Johnny then!  He was in two touring bands at the end of the seventies.  Following this, Keith became involved in the church and was music director in various churches, including Melbourne's biggest church, now called CityLife, for about fifteen years.  He was involved in large scale events, the production of four CDs, and extensive travel in Australia, New Zealand, PNG, India, Cambodia, Hong Kong and USA to perform and teach church music teams.  He also began song writing in earnest and contributed many songs to the albums he produced.  He moved from Melbourne to Brisbane in 2003 where, while still involving himself in church music, he formed a friendship with guitar virtuoso Wes Taylor.  This saw him involved in many performance with Wes and Movie World, Sea World and various other venues around Southeast Queensland.  Since moving back to Victoria from Brisbane, Keith began playing with the local blues artists and solo gigs.

Lee has always been wildly enthusiastic about music - singing in particular - and performed in choirs as a young girl.  Her greatest musical passion was the soul music that found its way from the USA to the UK and Manchester, where Lee was born.  She would go to the clubs where famous names were performing and spend hours inhaling the music.  Family life and moving around dictated what she was able to do musically when she moved to Australia, but eventually she began to realise her dreams by singing in a WA-based band and also performing in musical productions with a local dramatic society.

When Keith and Lee met, there was an instant recognition of each other's ability and musical passion that led, eventually, to the forming of KandL - and marriage, but that's another story.  They have become very active with local country music gatherings as well as performing a variety of music at various venues.  Lee often wrote songs in her younger days, but had no outlet for her talent.  Since joining forces with Keith, she has become a driving force with her excellent flair for melody and lyrics, while Keith has an inbuilt sense of how to interpret her output (which is prodigious, even at 3:00am!).  The combining of their abilities has produced some really good songs, several of them now finding airplay on local radio.

Dennis Morgan

Biography of Dennis Morgan

Dennis Morgan has been entertaining for 29+ years in bands and as a solo artist touring as support act for the Chad Morgan Show for six years and also in his own entity.  He has been involved in recording and national television on such shows as Conway Country and other musical variety shows

In 1987 he recorded a song called “Henry Lawson” which was entered into the golden guitar awards in Tamworth in 1988, and reached the final five in the heritage section and also received extensive national airplay.

He then lived and worked in the Whitsunday region of North Queensland playing in clubs and hotels throughout the state and has recently recorded three CD’s.  The first of which is called ‘In Over My Heart’, the second is ‘A Salute to Don Williams’, an American country singer who retired in 2006, and the third is an album of original songs called ‘A Substitute No More’, which was released in April 2009.

Dennis has a very mellow yet at times raunchy voice covering such artists as Don Williams, The Eagles, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Jim Reeves, Jimmy Buffet, Neil Diamond, James Taylor and the like.

A night with Dennis Morgan has been described as “music that bites and humour that sucks”.

A recent addition to his shows is a salute to Don Williams which is very well received by Don Williams fans everywhere.

In January and February 2008 he toured the North Island of New Zealand where he was accepted extremely well by fans and organisers alike.  He then completed an extended tour of the North Island in 2009 when he was a special guest at the Bay of Islands Country Music Festival in Paihia.  While in New Zealand he met Bob and Sheila Everhart from the National Traditional Country Music Association in the USA, and they were so impressed with Dennis, that they invited him to be inducted into their Hall of Fame.

Be sure to catch Dennis at a venue near you soon.
